Final-round Notes: AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am

The final-round was officially cancelled at 7:30 a.m. due to unplayable conditions, as rain Sunday and overnight Monday measured 1.32 inches. Dustin Johnson was declared the champion with the event shortened to 54 holes.

Since 1958, the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am has been shortened to 54 holes on six occasions, and in 1996 it was canceled due to unplayable conditions. From 1947-57 the AT&T Pebble Beach was a 54-hole event.

Five players posted top 10s to gain entry into this week's Northern Trust Open: Kevin Chappell (T6), Bill Lunde (T6), Chris Stroud (T6), Shigeki Maruyama (T10) and Mark Brooks (T10). Maruyama was playing on a sponsor's exemption. Chappell, playing in his third career TOUR event as a sponsor's exemption this week, posted his first career top 10. PGA TOUR rookie Bill Lunde also posted his first career top 10, playing in his seventh event.

The top 10 for Mark Brooks was his first since a tie for 10th at the 2005 EDS Byron Nelson Championship. He was playing in his 24th career AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, having missed just one start since 1984 (1986).

With a tie for 10th this week and 68 FedExCup points, Kenny Perry jumped into first in the FedExCup standings with 666 points. Charley Hoffman is seventh in FedExCup standings and the highest-ranked player in the standings without a win.

WITH THIS VICTORY, JOHNSON...

• Earns his second PGA TOUR victory in just his 36th career start at the age of 24 years, 7 months, 25 days. His first victory was at the 2008 Turning Stone Resort Championship.

• Gets one additional year added to his existing two-year exemption through the 2011 season. For 2009, Johnson secures a position in the Masters, the U.S. Open, the World Golf Championships-CA Championship and the World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship. He is also eligible for the 2010 Mercedes-Benz Championship.

• Moves from No. 119 to No. 45 in Official World Golf Ranking

• Moves to No. 2 on 2009 PGA TOUR Official Money List with $1,324,691.

• Earns 500 FedExCup points for victory this week, bringing his year-to-date total to 624 points and is fourth in FedExCup standings.

• Joins six other United States natives under the age of 30 with multiple PGA TOUR victories (J.B. Holmes, D.J. Trahan, Sean O'Hair, Anthony Kim, Nick Watney, Charles Howell III).

• Becomes the youngest winner of AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am since Tiger Woods won the event at the age of 24 years, 1 month, 7 days. John Cook is the youngest winner in tournament history at 23 years, 4 months.
