Davis began his attempt for a third win in the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am at Pebble Beach on Thursday, firing a 3-under 69 in the first round. Davis was off to a fine start with four birdies in his first seven holes, but had three bogeys on the way in to settle for the 69.

Davis shot an even-par 72 at Spyglass Hill on Friday. At 3 under for the tournament, Davis is nine shots off the lead and tied for 27th. Friday's round was steady with two birdies and two bogeys.

Davis made a move five positions up the leaderboard on Saturday with his 2-under 70 at Poppy Hills. With a 54-hole total of 5 under, Davis is tied for 22nd heading into Sunday at Pebble Beach and 10 shots off the leading mark set by Dustin Johnson.

Due to a flooded course and continued gloomy forecasts for Pebble Beach, the tournament was called at 54 holes, and Dustin Johnson won. Love ended up in a tie for 22nd, his position when he finished the third round.

Five things you should know about Davis Love III
Is a huge NASCAR fan. Love can talk stock car racing with the best of them, and he's participated in the Richard Petty Driving Experience several times.
Started designing his own courses when he was just 30 years old.
Was considered a long drive prodigy when he first came on TOUR. In the late 1980s, he averaged well over 280 yards a poke with a persimmon driver.
In the spring of 1992, he reeled off one of the best stretches in PGA TOUR history. In a four-week span, he won THE PLAYERS Championship, MCI Heritage Golf Classic and Kmart Greater Greensboro Open.
In 2003 at THE PLAYERS Championship, Love showed why he's one of the best pure talents in the game. After snapping his drive on the par-5 16th into the woods, Love used a 6-iron to hook the ball over twall er and onto the green for an eagle three. His 64 won the tournament by six shots.
