MCKINNEY, Texas -- Martin Flores shot a 66 for the second straight day to move into a share of the lead with former Vanderbilt standout Luke List and Kyle Reifers, who finished 56th on the 2009 Nationwide Tour money list. The trio leads by two shots at 12 under. Tommy "Two Gloves" Gainey, a GOLF CHANNEL "Big Break" winner, is tied for sixth at 8 under. Paul Stankowski (T9), Brenden Pappas (T12) and Nick Flanagan (T19) are also in position to advance to q-school finals with one round left. The top 21 and ties advance to the finals, Dec. 2-7 at Bear Lakes Country Club in West Palm Beach, Fla. Kris Cox, Hunter Haas and Tag Ridings are tied for 32nd and within sight of advancing. BROOKSVILLE, Fla. -- Jay Williamson and Scott Stallings carded matching 67s for the third straight day to remain tied for the lead at 15 under through three rounds at Southern Hills Plantation Club. Williamson, a TOUR mainstay in the early part of this decade, played in 22 events on the PGA TOUR in 2009 after making it through q-school in 2008. The top 21 players and ties following Saturday's final round will advance to the final stage. Those inside that cut-off include former University of Florida All-American Billy Horschel (T6, 10 under), Arjun Atwal (T10, 9 under) and Marco Dawson (T14, 8 under), who has played 375 career PGA TOUR events. Four-time PGA TOUR winner Joe Durant is tied for 22nd at 6 under. Dean Wilson, who won The INTERNATIONAL in 2006, is tied for 29th at 5 under. Brad Adamonis fell to a tie for 35th at 3 under with a third-round 75. Notables unlikely to advance include Frank Lickliter II (T47), Erik Compton (T54), Ty Tryon (T56), Robert Gamez (T63) and David Gossett (75). PANAMA CITY, Fla. -- Garrett Osborn turned in a 5-under 66 to take the lead by himself at 14 under at the Hombre Golf Club. Josh Broadaway and Casey Wittenberg are two shots back at 12 under. Shaun Micheel, the 2003 PGA Champion, shot a 67 and is tied for fourth with Andrew McLardy at 7 under. With the top 20 and ties moving on to the finals, they are all relatively safe with one round to go. Justin Peters, who won GOLF CHANNEL's first "Big Break," is tied for sixth at 6 under. Skip Kendall is tied for 11th at 4 under. PGA TOUR winners Guy Boros (T22) and Peter Lonard (T47) are currently not in position to advance. PINE MOUNTAIN, Ga. -- Kevin Kisner moved four shots clear of the field by shooting a third-round 66 and moving to 19 under at Callaway Gardens, where the top 20 and ties advance to the finals. PGA TOUR veterans Ken Duke and Tom Scherrer are tied for third at 11 under, while Robert Damron (17), Canadian Ian Leggatt (T18) and Paraguay's Carlos Franco (T18) are also inside the top 20. Two-time PGA TOUR winner Len Mattiace and former University of Georgia All-American Chris Kirk are tied for 34th, two shots behind the current cut-off. KINGWOOD, Texas -- Emmett Turner (Augusta, Ga.) posted his second consecutive 67 to remain atop the leaderboard after 54 holes at Deerwood Golf Club. The bogey-free third round kept him four strokes ahead of the field heading into the final round. Turner has now gone 50 holes without a bogey in Kingwood, with his lone bogey coming at the par-4 4th hole in Round 1. The low round of the day belonged to James Hahn (Alameda, Calif.), who shot a 6-under 66 that consisted of seven birdies and moved him to a tie for second place at 10 under. Other players currently in a tie for second are Omar Uresti (Austin, Texas), J.P. Hayes (El Paso, Texas) and Neal Lancaster (Smithfield, N.C.). Jamie Lovemark, who lost in a playoff at the Frys.com Open during the PGA TOUR's Fall Series, shot an even-par 72 in Round 3 and is tied for 44th at 1 over. Nineteen qualifying positions and ties advance to the final stage. BEAUMONT, Calif. -- Jeff Brehaut (Los Altos, Calif.) shot an 8-under 64, the lowest round in the first 54 holes at Oak Valley Golf Club, to tie Brendan Steele (Irvine, Calif.) at 14 under. Steele held on to a portion of the lead with his 4-under 68 in Friday that consisted of six birdies and two bogeys. Two-time PGA TOUR winner Jonathan Kaye (Phoenix, Ariz.) jumped from T42 to T10 after shooting 66 on Friday. Kaye's round included nine birdies, five of which occurred in a six-hole span from Nos. 9-14. Other notables include Phil Tataurangi (T3), Jason Gore (T10) and Bob May (T25). Twenty qualifying positions and ties advance to the final stage. |
